Continuity and Change, three generations of Ethiopian Artists

Continuity and Change: Three Generations of Ethiopian Artists documents more than fifty years of modern and contemporary painting in Ethiopia. The exhibition explores the works of 23 artists who are influenced by both the School of Fine Arts in Addis Ababa, one of Africa’s leading art academies and founded under the patronage of Emperor Haile Selassie, and the political and social upheavals of 20th century Ethiopia. Diggs Gallery is one of the South’s leading showcases dedicated to African and African-American art. The gallery is the major cultural center at Winston-Salem State University and serves as an important community meeting space where art educates, enlightens and unites people from all walks of life.
