Visits for artistic creation in Mexico

The Embassy of Mexico is calling for people in East Africa who are wishing to create an artistic work in Mexico under the guidance of an expert in the field either national or foreign, residing in Mexico. The duration of the scholarship will be six months, during which the selected artists will be able to enrich their work through constant exchanges with Mexican artists.The successful candidate is to undergo a Spanish course prior to her or his departure.  Read more…

Ethiopia: First Locally Made Cartoon Film Released

Ethiopia

An Ethiopian-made film, believed to be instrumental in entertaining and educating Ethiopian children was inaugurated last week. The film is seen as a pioneer in a country where Ethiopian-made cartoon films written in any of the languages in the country are totally non-existent. Rattling Color

Rattling ColorThe exhibition 'Rattling Color' by Mekbib Gebertsadik & Meseret Desta opens Feb 24th, 6–10pm & Feb 25th, 2–7pm. Mekbib has exhibited in Ethiopia & other countries prior to going to the US with his wife, Meseret, in 2001. Upon completing his higher education, he worked as a full-time studio artist, winning an int'l competition in 2000 in the Netherlands called, 'The Reason to Love the Earth'. Read more
